Emery Gate sponsors TWO Guide Dog Puppies

Emery Gate Shopping Centre have been working in partnership with Chippenham and Corsham Guide Dogs (part of the nationwide Guide Dogs Association) to fund and name two very special puppies, Emery and Saxon. It has taken 2 years to raise an astounding £10,000 through proceeds from Emery Gate’s annual Christmas grotto.

Nicola Milne, Centre Manager at Emery Gate Shopping Centre, said “We have named the first puppy Emery as a thank you to those who visited us during the festive season. The second puppy will be named Saxon. This name was chosen following a Facebook poll and relates to the heritage of Chippenham.”

Janet Smith, Coordinator of Chippenham and Corsham Guide Dogs, added:
“We have been very pleased to work with Emery Gate Shopping Centre and would like to thank everyone for their support. We have been made to feel very welcome by all involved, who have shown a great genuine interest in our charity and have been generous with their contributions. We look forward to welcoming Emery and Saxon into the Guide Dog family. Thank you Chippenham”.

The puppies will be going through training to become guide dogs; eventually, going on to change the life of someone who is blind or partially sighted.
